What are you really selling, anyway?

Hey, Boomers!

Most of us new to internet marketing are overwhelmed with information overload and frankly, spend way too much time wondering where to start. This is not only disheartening but downright frustrating. There are so many things to consider such as branding yourself with a domain name, finding a reputable hosting account, learning about an FTP client as well as developing a landing page and linking it with an autoresponder account. Other things such as building a webpage and or blog and uploading it to your server and creating followup emails that increase your credibility and trust with your readers and listeners. These things need to be carefully crafted and organized in such a manner so that they lead your customer or reader into the realm of total trust and awareness. In other words, they feel that they know you well enough to buy from you. But how does one actually start and is there a program or system of skills that need to be learned even before you try to attempt the vast learning curve you are about to embark.

First, lets put things into perspective. Most of us prefer to do things on our own because our brains are programmed to take the leap of faith. We know ourselves and we know our abilities and we feel that with determination, drive and self motivation that nothing will stop us from completing our goals. That’s the spirit! Getting yourself into the proper mindset is the single most important skill that will help you launch your ideas to the world.

But, what are you really selling, anyway? The answer may come as a surprise to you…it’s

YOURSELF… That’s right! You need to sell you before you can sell to anyone else. If you can’t convince yourself, how are you going to convince others about your program or product?
